I Can See Clearly

I Can See Clearly

One of my favorite songs in the 1970’s was I Can See Clearly Now written by Johnny Nash.  It has great lyrics and it has been rerecorded by many other talented artists.  If by some chance you have not heard the song, take a moment and YouTube the song.  I find it has all kinds of truth in the lyrics. We always see better when it is not raining.  We enjoy life even more when we have overcome obstacles and the many addictions that have clouded our judgment.

Now I would like to transition to the words written by Jesus.  Jesus said ‘I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in the darkness (John. 8:12).  When you and I are living in the sunshine of Jesus, because He is the Light, we see clearly.  On the other hand, when we look away from Jesus, the Light, we again walk into the rain storms and run into the obstacles and clouds of darkness disrupt our thinking and we succumb to the tempting addictions that have ripped lives apart.  You would think it would be easy to walk, to live in the light of Jesus.  In the first chapter of the New Testament, the book of James says that we will go through trials, face obstacles and deal with all kinds of temptations (James 1:2-4) .

Here is what I believe when it comes to growing and doing life.  You could go through the cancers of life in an irrational leap of blind faith without God or you can grow in the light of Jesus and you can walk in the light of God’s word (Psalms 119:105) and CLEARLY see the rain, the obstacles, and black clouds as they come.

Lets Pray. “Dear Jesus, I would rather dance with you through the rain storms , have you carry me over the obstacles and see clearly the Godly choices of life.” –  AMEN
