Infantilism

Infantilism

An interesting word that describes an adult who continues to act like a child. Growing up is a process and although life is full of great disappointments and great successes time marches on. There is a struggle for some who want to stay in a moment. I was in Los Angeles with my daughters years ago at a store called Forever 21. I noticed a lot of the shoppers were a lot older than 21 and it took all I could not to say you are not 21, it’s over, go shop at an age appropriate store. Instead I chuckled, at how ridiculous this event was. After college I played in some basketball and soccer and softball leagues and there was and is always those folks that think they are be scouted, not happening. In every stage of life there are new challenges and new opportunities and folks the teenage and college years are not the best. The process of change is the challenge but give it your full attention to enjoy the process and allow God to use you in your new stage of life.

In your journey as a Christ follower you will experience great victories and disappointments.  I Peter 2:1,  ‘So get rid of all evil behavior. Be done with all deceit, hypocrisy, jealousy, and all unkind speech.” The processes of maturing as a Man or Woman of God is beautiful as long as the process continues. I can tell you one thing the process of change, growth, does not stop. When you are reading God’s word and listening to his still small voice and obeying it change is a sweet thing. Because, the possibilities and achievements ahead of you are just waiting for you to continue to grow up. So, “Grow in the grace and knowledge of Jesus Christ.” II Peter 3:18
