Ken Johns was born in the western suburb of Chicago and moved to the Detroit suburbs when he was a teenager. In 1982 Ken graduated from Washington Bible College in Lanham, Maryland, where he met his wife Janell.

After college, Ken worked for a short time in management for service Master Corp. In Chicago. He then moved back to the Washington, DC/Virginia area and started a painting business. In 1984, Ken stepped into a ministry career as Pastor.

Ken and his family moved to Great Falls, Montana in July of 1988 with another ministry. 1993 was the year the Ken and Janell and several other families started Solid Rock Bible Church with the motto being:

For people who aren’t prefect and don’t pretend to be.

Ken, his wife and three children enjoy the great outdoors in Big Sky country. Since his motto is “Play hard, Pray hard”, he loves playing league hockey as well as participating in many other outdoor activities.

I felt at home the first day I attended Solid Rock.  This is what a bible church is all about.  A gifted communicator, Pastor Ken speaks from the heart and from the scripture.
