Jesus is EVERYTHING

Jesus is EVERYTHING

Hey everyone Pastor Matt here, this last Sunday Pastor Ken encouraged everyone with the fact that Jesus is everything. I would like to continue the encouragement through this blog.

The first thing I hear when having a conversation about the state of the world today is that Jesus seems to be pushed out of the world. (I know not encouraging yet but bear with me)  From followers of Jesus to atheists the consensus seems to be the same. The lack of hope found in this world seems to be overbearing. It is compared to an empty parking lot as far as the eye can see. I know this is not everyone’s view of the world. However the anxiety among youth and adults today thinking of the future is at an all time high. In the church we offer an antidote to this hopelessness. That antidote is Jesus.

Jesus is like milkweed…. This summer I have pulled a truck load of milkweed out of my flowerbeds, yard, driveway, cement slab and along the foundation of my house………IN MY CRAWL SPACE?!.  I have pulled a ton out and it always comes back. That is Jesus. The world tries to cover him up and get rid of him and he always comes back. Milkweed is resilient so much so that if you go to giant springs park and walk along the asphalt pathway milkweed has broken through the middle of the path like our image for this blog.

So when we look out and see the empty parking lot of this world we should see two things: people who need Jesus, and the hope of Jesus. We in turn can point them to this hope of salvation in Jesus and the more we look for this hope the more life we see growing through the cracks of this world.
